AQUA 2017 wants to carry on in the research of a sustainable and pacific way to live that cannot be achieved without a thorough knowledge and respect of Water.

COnference and ARt

The conference with experts will present different approaches and realities of works related to water.

The exhibit will present different perceives of water meanings in our life, economy and socio-cultural life.

The art exhibit represent the fundamental way to became in contact with different perceives of water, to discover and build our consciousness and the way for a change.

Experts and artists will participate with their works and research and enhance the meaning of water in its different forms in relation with human beings.

Aqua 2017 will be inaugurated in Rome the 22nd of March at Palazzo dei Dioscuri with an international conference focusing the value of water and its preciosity with Luca Raffaelli, journalist and writer, will inaugurate AQUA 2017 with the participation of Davide Carrera, free diving world champion.

Folco Quilici
Film director, screenwriter and pioneered color underwater photography when he started shooting in 1952, the documentary film Sesto Continente (The Sixth Continent, first released in 1954). He dedicated his extraordinary career to discover the beauty and the history of the sea, of nature and the complex relationship between them and humanity.

Arturo Vittori
Architect and Designer, founder of Warka Water Foundation focuses on innovative and sustainable solutions to some of the most enduring problems of mankind through the fusion of knowledge and local resources innovative design towards sustainability 'and support for water law.

Camila Kuncar
Architect and founder of the collective "Exploraciones urbanas Territorios a pie" active in Santiago de Chile since 2011. It is a project for the development of research on the urban territory after the walks and the gathering of information. From 2014 carries out the campaign "Huellas defundación", a series of crossings with students and citizens along the route of the waters of Santiago de Chile and Madrid, with the aim to observe, identify and understand the complex relationship between water, city and society.

Riccardo Pesapane
Perito nautico, appassionato di permacultura. Lavora attualmente alla realizzazione di una Food Forest utilizzando, il più possibile le “Fosse livellari” o “Swales” per la gestione dell’acqua e la salvaguardia del territorio.

Lucilla Rami Ceci
Anthropologist, d.f.r. of Cultural Anthropology, Economic Anthropology and Sustainable Tourism Anthropology in the University La Sapienza of Rome and of Jordan in Amman. Expert on valorization of processes of archeological and touristic areas.

Christina Sassayannis
Anthropologist and president of Through Waters. Through Waters born in China in the 2012 with a first art exhibition. Our purpose is to develop a new language to discover the importance and strong relationship between water and humanity.

Grammenos Mastrojeni
Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Coordinator for the environment of development cooperation, the contemporary issue of Climate Change and socio-cultural implications.

Francesca Santagata
Ingegnere / responsabile Qualitá Sicurezza e Ambiente presso Cap Holding a Milano / ex responsabile laboratorio qualità ARIN Napoli (ora ABC). Ha contribuito alla realizzazione del Museo dell’Acqua a Napoli.

Julio César Ayllón
Architect, founder of Ayllon Architects, based in Sardinia. From 1999 he build on and for Oceans. He built for OFTAL the first beach resort for disabled in Italy, based on a Sardinian beach, using new technologies interpreting, as in all his career, the complex and troubled fusion between nature and the needs of our contemporary society.

Roberto Venafro
Engineer / manager Environment - Institutional Affairs at Edison. The value and power of water as a resource for the production of electricity with zero emissions.
The environmental value has more of a connection with the rational use of water resources that you can combine
through integrated management models, efficient and sustainable where the various stages of the water cycle which include the extraction, use, recovery and return to natural ecosystems are organized according to the principles of
'Circular economy'.

Our experience together will move forward on the island of Salina, the 15th of September 2017, in Eolie Archipelago.

Education workshop and conference

Through our education workshop we enhance water value in schools and we build new forms of communications about how much water is important and fundamental to be protect.

The conference will bring experts and their works result in a dialogue with the habitants and students to develop consciousness and a better way to build accessibility on water resource and to protect it.

The art exhibit will collect works of local and international artists and works of students realized during our workshops.
